The Grass Cup Café was opened January 2006 in the historic village of Graafschap
(grafs-hup) in Holland Michigan.  The village was founded in 1847 by Dutch immigrants
seeking religious freedom.  Many of the original structures and buildings still stand in
downtown Graafschap.  The building that was home to the Grass Cup Café was built in
the 1950’s and was originally a grocery store/butcher shop.  The Grass Cup Café strove
to be one of the best cafés in the region serving gourmet food, fair trade organic coffee &
espresso, musical atmosphere & personal ambiance in what was an upscale casual
setting.  As of December 2008, the Grass Cup Café has closed and is seeking a new
location to better serve our community.

Chef Angie K began her craft in a humble bar and
grill as a line cook upon arriving in New Orleans in
1997.  It was in that establishment that she discovered
her love for making people’s dining experience as
flavorful as possible.  She then spent the next nine
years working in some of the finest restaurants New
Orleans has to offer.  A quick learner, Chef Angie K
was able to study first hand all the great recipes and
culinary practices that have made New Orleans such a
famous destination.  It was during this self directed
internship that she decided that she wanted to be able
to expand upon her studies, and give people a truly
magnificent meal that utilized the “best of the best” of
what she had learned.  In the wake of Hurricane
Katrina, Chef Angie K found herself in Holland,
Michigan and decided that it was the perfect
opportunity to expand her dream and ideals. Welcome
